MY STORY
The short version
“I’m a mom of four, a wife, and a CEO who went from unemployed and searching for more to building multiple thriving care home businesses that change lives every day.”
My Journey
I was born in West Africa Liberia, to be exact and raised by my great-grandmother in Monrovia. She was my everything. But when the Liberian civil war began, life as I knew it changed overnight.
My family and I were forced to leave our home behind. With no food and no shelter, we did whatever we could to survive. We walked for days with nothing but the clothes on our backs, eventually crossing into the neighboring country of Ivory Coast. There, we became refugees in a place that was foreign to us, uncertain of what the future would hold.
During that time, I saw the most vulnerable the elderly and young children suffer the most. Many died alone, with no family by their side, no safe place to rest, and no support in their final days. Though I was only a child, that pain became the foundation of my purpose.
At the age of 11, my family of ten made it to the United States to start over. The adjustment was not easy new country, new culture, new way of life. We first settled in Boise, Idaho, and later I moved to Atlanta, Georgia. I attended middle and high school there, graduated, and earned my Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Georgia State University. I went on to complete my Master of Science in Psychology with a focus on community health, because caring for people and building stronger communities has always been at the heart of who I am.
Today, I’m a wife, a mother of four beautiful children, and a proud CEO. I went from being unemployed and exhausted trading my time for just enough to get by to building multiple thriving businesses that serve my community with compassion and integrity. I own and operate Tarr Personal Care Home and Comfort Integrity Care, providing safe homes for seniors, veterans, and adults with disabilities who deserve care that feels like family.
I know what it’s like to lose your home and to feel helpless. That’s why I’m passionate about helping people like you create safe, purpose-driven homes for others because everyone deserves a place to call home, and no one should ever feel forgotten.
